Bali 2017

“I left my heart at Bali.”

This not an understatement. I think I left my soul there as well.

This 2 days 1 night trip is so far the best – best company, best food, best of everything. I really need to thank Natassha and her family for the generosity and hospitality.

Planning of trip was rough with a lot of setbacks. The flight ticket was booked back in September 2016, an intended 5 days solo trip. And there came my ‘unanticipated’ resignation one month before the trip, leaving me no choice but to sacrifice and cut the trip to a weekend getaway. And coincidentally N was back in Bali, so I asked her to join me on this trip.

Been to most of the places in Bali but Canggu, and everyone had been telling me that I NEED to visit, hence I decided to cancel my hotel booking with IZE Seminyak in (obviously) Seminyak for a villa in Canggu.

Though this trip was as short as 2 days (actually less than 48 hours), we managed to visit quite a few spots – Nusa Dua, Kuta, Seminyak, and of course Canggu.

Zoe’s Villa
(@ Canggu)

When I first booked this villa via Agoda, I though it was gonna be a shared pool bedroom. SURPRISE! I got my very own private pool. I was amazed by the place, relatively clean, interior design was quite modern, and definitely exceeded my expectation (as compared to the low resolution photos posted on Agoda).

… Until I found a cockroach underneath my luggage while I was packing up on my second and last day. I have no idea when and how the cockroach managed to scramble in, it was already half dead. Fumbled with the hotel phone, I then realised I didn’t know how it works or rather what number to dial. Went out to the reception to call for help, the lady can’t seem to comprehend what I was saying. You got it, no one cleared the rascal even until I checked out.

Per night costs about IDR 100,000 (SGD 106).

The pool I never get to swim in.

Finns Beach Club (@ Canggu)

Potato Head, your rival is coming in strong… Now that I have been to Finns Beach Club, I actually love it better than Potato Head. No lack of seats, and love the playlist. Downside, entrance fee is IDR 250,000 (SGD 26) which will be converted to Finns dollars for drinks and food purchase. They even have ice cream!

Address: Jl. Pantai Berawa, Tibubeneng, Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361, Indonesia

Carrefour (@ Kuta)

Was craving for Indonesia snack, Nat’s chauffeur kindly dropped us at Carrefour. The things you will typically find in my trolley – mee moreng, more mee goreng and random snacks.

I couldn’t fit everything in my 20 inch luggage and hence resorting to buying a larger one there. HAHAHA worth it for mee goreng. Paid IDR 140,000 (SGD 15) for junks. 😉

Beachwalk (@ Kuta)

Not unfamiliar with this place, been here for the second time. Best place to shop for authentic goods – Zara, Topshop, Pull & Bear, Bershka, H&M, Furla, Mango, etc.

Had nasi goreng and a bunch of other stuffs at Kafe Betawi. 2 main course, 1 side dish, 2 desserts and 2 drinks cost IDR 200,000 (SGD 21). Can I live there forever?

Bebek Bengil
(@ Nusa Dua)

Been to their original outlet in Ubud, it was so good I had to come back but this time at Nusa Dua. Quality is almost comparable to their outlet at Ubud. If you have the time to travel to Ubud (where Monkey Forest is), please give it a go.

Address: ITDC Area, Lot C-0, Nusa Dua, Benoa, Kuta Sel., Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80363, Indonesia

Pison Coffee (@ Seminyak)

Our first stopover after I landed in Bali, had a long chat over ago french toasts and avocado coffee. No pictures because fucked that – I was hungry. Service was fast and good. Avocado coffee was the bomb. I NEED TO GO BACK.

Address: No., Jl. Petitenget No.8A, Kerobokan Kelod, Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361, Indonesia

That was basically what I did in Bali in less than 48 hours, not to mentioned I knocked out in the villa for 12 hours. HAHAHAHAHA I was knackered af.

Once again I need to thank this woman for being so kind. Terima Kasih! Till our next adventure in Penang. x
